I got a 3.84 GPA my freshman year and I am transferring (into sophomore year) for better opportunities ..will the GPA still count when I am applying to med schools? Will I have to send two different transcripts?

Any course you ever take in any college counts.

Absolutely. AMCAS wants transcripts for every college, graduate, and professional level course you took throughout your lifetime. Or, you can look at it this way: if you only give AMCAS your transcripts from the school to which you transferred, you'll be short with regard to credits.

Thanks. One last thing. Do med schools look unfavorably upon transferring if you did it for the increased opportunity and strength of the science programs?

Basically I transferred to advance myself in what I want to pursue. My previous school's science was very weak, and I transferred to one known for its science and it also has a hospital and medical school.

I do have a question regarding this, I quit my Chinese business school 4 years ago, and my grades in accounting and finance (I only took business classes back to then) were something like 2.7 GPA, my current Neuroscience program is 3.89 GPA. Do I still need to send them my Chinese business school's transcript though they are not a bit related to bio/science?

AMCAS Instruction Manual has answers to almost all questions regarding AMCAS: https://aamc-orange.global.ssl.fast...278-2edb3998a216/amcas_instruction_manual.pdf

Start reading on page 21.

If you attended a foreign school, you do not submit the transcript.
You must submit a transcript from any US or Canadian schools where you took college-level courses, no matter if they were related to science or not.
