This is one of my last courses before I graduate and was curious if anyone has any recommendations on a good review book or study guide to go along with the course. I have had them for most of my science courses but have not been able to find one for biochemistry. I think they are a great way to cement the core of the material. Any help is appreciated!

There is a test bank and solutions manual for Lehninger. Not sure if that's quite what you're looking for.

Schaum for Biology and Gen Chem

Organic Chem as a Second Language for O-Chem (obviously)

I was perusing the local bookstore today and considered buying the Lippincott Biochemistry book they use in medical school but not sure if it would work for an undergrad course. Seemed fairly succinct and to the point, telling you the important points.

I used demystifying biochem and shaums biochem outline. they were pretty decent

In addition some other resources, I frequently used the Medical Biochemistry Page in undergrad.

Biochemistry destroyed my GPA. I probably should have looked for a review book like you did.

I just finished up my biochemistry class and it was taught by the author of this book, Dr. Michael Lieberman. The guy is an amazing lecturer, I don't know where to get started. We didn't use his book since it is designed for the class he teaches for Cincinnati COM (or med school in general). It is my understanding though that he pretty much taught the same class to us, with less of an emphasis on clinical aspects and more of mechanisms, methods, and structures (metabolism). Anyways I would highly recommend it to supplement your class.

funny thing about Dr. Lieberman is that on the first day of class he said "if I have to look at my notes to remember something then you don't need to know it for the exam." I think over the course of the year he looked at his notes three times 🙁

I think it will work if you use it in such a way. It is a textbook for med students but if you were working on, for example, eukaryotic gene regulation then read that chapter from the book I think you would have a great foundation and be more then prepped for a normal undergrad biochem class.

If you are using the Lehninger biochem text book, I found a pretty sweet link to biochem videos on youtube. I used these along with my studying and didn't find the course too difficult.
