Hey guys,

My school has an Undergrad Research Conference where I have the opportunity to give a poster presentation on our preliminary data and have the abstract published in the schools undergrad journal.

My question: is it worth it? How much better odes this look than not have anything to show? By the time I apply I'll have worked this position for over a year, put in tons of hours, and have been an integral part of the project. But at the time of application, I most likely will have nothing tangible to show for it other than the "we're probably publishing next year."

I ask because the conference is 2 weeks before I plan to take my MCATs.

Thanks!

It's definitely worth it as long as it doesn't take up WAY too much time, as you're also studying for the MCAT. Sounds like a good opportunity though.

That's worth it, shouldn't be that hard to write it up/get prepared in 2 weeks.
Be sure that you get that pub or at least complete it.

It is certainly worth it as long as it doesn't take up too much of your MCAT studying time (which it really shouldn't tbh).

If you decide you want to focus on studying instead, it's no real loss; an undergrad conference isn't really worth all that much in the scheme of things.
