Good afternoon all, hope you all had a successful finals week.

The last day of finals for my campus is today, however mine was organic chemistry last night. Which was all great and dandy until I turned the page onto the spectroscopy and determining structures which may or may not been a disaster.

My actual question is, in my degree Organic Chem 2 is not a prerequisite to graduate, but should I take it? I personally found that once I got the material in O-chem, I was able to succeed but our professor has made the course a team-based learning course which was a struggle to learn, just to try to get a decent mark.

Will not taking O-Chem2 affect admissions into Canadian schools?

No real advice but screw professors who try and do team based learning

You may be able to get away with not taking organic 2 for the MCAT. However SOME med schools still require 2 semesters of organic chemistry. I know my state school does.

I agree, I dislike team based learning, in particular for a difficult course. I do think that it taught me to try harder, to try to keep those grades from nosediving.

I also realized for advanced micro, I have to take O-chem2, and that course I need to take a pharmacognosy course that seems interesting.
