Undergrad dilemma

ok I stopped undergrad two years ago with two semesters left to graduate and currently have a 2.0 GPA(two D's in my last semester, everything else is fine though believe it or not). I am ready to go back and finish my last year beginning in Jan. I want to enter med school as soon as possible, and I know I can raise my gpa way up(grew up and did some self searching)
Anyway, im thinking if I apply for 2006 then it would have to be this June(I want to sit for the Mcat in April)but my gpa will look bad still (lets just say I get a 4.0 this coming semester, my gpa will be a 3.0) and not close to being competitive, so am I better off just graduating and getting it as high as possible then applying for 2007?

What would you guys do is what Im asking, and thanks in advance for your replies...cheers

I would take a post-bacc program to up your GPA and show adcoms that get beyond the GPA that you can do the work.

I would apply for the 2007 cycle so all of your grades will show up. They like an upward trend, and if you perform better in the more difficult classes, it'll look good. This is just what I would do, but if money isn't an issue then maybe apply to some places for the 2006 cycle and see if you can get in somewhere? But your best bet is probably waiting till 2007, in my opinion.
