It seems that people on these forums never list their undergrad school along with their stats... shouldn't the difficulty/competitiveness of the school be an important/essential part of the application?

I only ask because I'm in a very competitive major/school combo (BME at Case). Looking to assauge my acceptance fears a little.

I've heard that and it makes sense. With this logic it seems that a high DAT scores (haven't taken them, but i do standardized tests very well) and so-so grades (3.2 cum, 3.3 science) , considering my major, should be enough to academically satisfy at least some of the schools I'll be applying to.

Two reasons:

1) People don't want to give away their identity on SDN. Dental school admissions committees do read this site, so anonymity allows applicants to be a**holes with impunity.

2) People on SDN don't believe that your school or your major matters. It helps them sleep better at night.

Try checking out predents.com. That'll give you a good idea of schools/major along with all the numbers and acceptances/interviews/rejections/waitlists. 🙂 Along with this site, it's a horrible little addiction!

i chose my school based on how hot the girls were.. it just so happened to be my cheapest option also (i.e. scholarship). reputation matters little... 4 years of happiness >> 4 years of being 100% studious
