I'm and undergraduate student in the NY area and I'm thinking about transferring to Manhattan College because of their B.S. in Exercise Science program. Seeing how the economy is bad I don't know exactly how much financial aid would be availible for a transfer student. With that in mind is it better to just stay as a Biology major in the hardcore sciences or transfer to Manhattan and major in Excercise Science which obviously better suits my career goal of becoming a PT? Anyone have any expierience with Manhattan Colleges Excercise Science program? If so, did it prepare you for the competitive admissions process of PT schools in the NYC area?

Hiya,
I'm a bio major/psych minor and got into PT schools just fine. What major you are is not all that important as long as you do well in school and particularly in your prereq. courses. A lot of bio courses coincide with prereq. courses, and I feel very prepared for PT academics. And I love bio, so that helps a lot. It's more important that you get actual PT exposure (like volunteering or being an aide). Best of luck!
