Any underground prep guide for Step 2 CK. I used the taus method for usmle step 1 and found it incredibly useful but couldn't find anything similar for ck?
As I recall, the "Taus method" for Step 1 is simply a regimented study protocol with no actual study material provided. Please feel to root around the forum as there are plenty of individuals willing to share their study schedules/strategies. I'm sure you didn't mean "underground" to imply pirated material that is otherwise copyrighted, since that would not be tolerated on these forums. Good luck. 🙂
I also used the Taus method when studying for step 1 and loved it. I also searched around a little bit for a study guide for step 2 but couldn't find one. After taking step 2 a month ago I think this is for several reasons.
Most important is the fact that you don't need a lot of resources to do well when studying for step 2 and people typically don't study that long. Most people use Uworld qbank and pick one resource out of firstaid, step up, master the boards or step 2 secrets. My roommate used uworld only and scored high 250s. I used uworld and step 2 secrets only and scored low 260s.
It's also a very random test and to be honest it's mostly going to be stuff you picked up during third year where it'll ask you a question and you think back to that one time when an attending mentioned something in passing and you managed to remember it. The body of knowledge it is testing is very broad and no study guide can really encompass that like for step 1. I studied for 3 weeks and I'm not sure how much studying helped my score. It is a clinical reasoning test more than anything.
Bottom line finish your third year rotations strong and learn as much as you can. That's probably the best prep for step 2. I think you'll find step 2 a lot easier to prepare for than step 1.
