School 1: UNE
OOS
Pros:
  • Community based service
  • Closer to home (8.5 hr drive)
  • Great clinical experience
  • Portland looks pretty and I like that the city is not very big
  • The class seems to be a lot of non traditional students, which I am
  • Smaller class size
  • Pass Fail grading system
  • Externship in rural clinic
Cons:
  • Long harsh winters
  • High cost of living
School 2: LECOM
OOS
Pros:
  • Warm, beach, sun
  • PBL (idk if I like it or not)
  • Lowest cost of living, easier to find housing
Cons:
  • I don't love Florida
  • I don't know if I would like PBL
  • Larger class size
  • Further from home
Summary: I am leaning toward UNE but I believe the cost is higher. I am also considering working at a FQHC. I want to specialize in pediatrics.
