Can someone please explain this to me? I think I understand it but I could be wrong.

This is the pre-req list copy&pasted from the UNE pre-req page.

COURSEWORK PREREQUISITES
  • Science
    • General Biology with lab (4 semester, 6 quarter credits); Zoology acceptable to fulfill requirement
    • Human Anatomy with lab (4 semester, 6 quarter credits)
    • Microbiology with lab (4 semester, 6 quarter credits)
    • General Chemistry with lab (4 semester, 6 quarter credits)
    • Organic Chemistry with lab (4 semester, 6 quarter credits
    • Biochemistry (3 semester, 4.5 quarter credits)
    • Additional Biology, Chemistry, Physics (12 semester, 18 quarter credits

Are they basically asking for 1 course out of all the subjects?
i.e. 1 semester bio, 1 semester human anatomy, 1 semester micro, etc

Idk I'm just a little confused.

As long as the units add up to what it says in the parenthesis then you're good. It would probably take 2 classes to get to 6 quarter credits.

From what I recall, most college science classes are 3 to 4-semester credits. I believe it is just one of each, but I would call UNE to double check.

I'm also applying to UNE and when I filled out this section, I understood they were essentially looking for one semester of each. But then the last prerequisite at the bottom asks for additional semesters of any of the subjects combined, so it sounds to me that they are a little more lenient on their prerequisite requirements, but still essentially wanting 2 semesters average on each subject to round it all out.

To clarify, the additional 12 credits are any combination of Biology, Chemistry, Physics. Rarely are these not completed, courses such as Biology II w/ Lab, General Chemistry II w/ Lab, Organic Chemistry II w/ Lab will complete it.
