Hi,

I applied to DO schools about two years ago but after I received all the secondaries I chose to enroll at a master program. I ended up not submitting any of the secondaries. I was foolish enough to not contact with any school regrading the withdraw. I don't know how will this affect my application if I want to apply again this summer. Should I explain in PS?
My stats are okay. 30mcat 3.6gpa

I'm 98% sure that you are a reapplicant and will be expected to have made drastic improvements to your previous application.

After that year, I got my master degree, shadowed some DOs and improved my MCAT by 2 points, and co-authored one paper and one abstract.
My concern is I did not contact any school to explain that I would not submit the secondary. Of course they send me an rejection email by the end of cycle.

Oh you mean because you didn't formally withdraw? That's fine. Either way you'd still be a reapplicant. Hundreds of people don't submit the secondary. There's no animosity to be had or found for that matter because of what you did.

Good job with strengthening your app. I think you'll do great this cycle.

Yes, I don't know should I explain in PS or not since I didn't apply to all the schools and this year I will have a different list of school to apply. Should I bring it up in my secondary/ interview?

Nope. Do not bring up that you didn't turn in a secondary. That won't do anything. Your PS should address how you've grown since you've last applied to medical school and that's IT. Do not waste a sentence apologizing for not turning in a secondary.

Don't even talk about it during the secondary essay or interview. You just want to talk about how you've grown and matured since that time. That's it. It's "don't as don't tell" (though adcoms will already be aware that you are a reapplicant).

You should just reapply as normal and only mention it if it is asked in an interview; things happen/people understand (the important thing is you didn't cost them money)

Is contacting the school to inform withdrawal something typically done? I sent my primary and received a secondary but didn't send it because of a late mcat retake and decided to apply this upcoming cycle. I want to apply to the same school, should I contact them or just reapply?

You can just reapply. I don't think you have to mention that unless they ask. I basically did the same thing when I first applied and reapplied this cycle. And got into one of the schools that I reapplied to.

If you have nothing more interesting to write about, make your PS about how you have improved since your last time sending in your application in your PS. Maybe mention that you applied and realized you weren't ready so you didn't submit secondaries. But if you have something far more interesting to talk about then do that instead.
