Hey guys,

I had a question about AADSAS GPA. A few years ago, I received an MBA from a program that does not use the traditional A, B, C...etc. scale of assigning grades. They use some offbeat grading system that uses things like DS, HP, PS, etc...and these grades (according to the university itself) cannot be converted to a GPA value.

So my question is, how would I enter these grades in AADSAS? I could enter all my grades from my MBA as Pass (which is what AADSAS employees recommended). This is fine because pass/fail courses are not counted in your overall GPA.

But my worry is that it will show my entire MBA GPA as 0.00, right? If that is the case, wouldn't that make me miss the GPA cutoff for all schools (if they are scanned by computers, and not people)? My overall GPA would be fine, but my school-specific MBA GPA would be either 0.00 or n/a, right?

Basically, I'm worried that if I put "Pass" for each of my courses that I took in my MBA (which is what AADSAS recommend I do), then my school specific (and graduate) GPA would show up as 0.00...which may make me look bad?

What do you guys think? Any advice would help.

See if you can meet with at least one dental school and ask them what they recommend. After you apply, I would send a letter to every school and include your MBA transcript and the key that shows what each "grade" means.

When you mail your transcripts to AADSAS, does AADSAS not send your transcripts to all the schools that you apply to?

No, they don't send transcripts to the schools. That's why we have to enter each grade and they verify them. It cuts down on the paperwork the schools receive.

Oh, interesting. Well, I called AADSAS, and they said that even if all of my grades for my MBA are written as "Pass", then the GPA for my MBA degree will show up as "N/A" instead of 0.00.

My overall GPA should not be affected. And my guess is that schools typically only use the overall GPA, science GPA, and DAT scores as the major cutoff numbers.

So, I think I should be ok.
