Can someone go over this?
1 horsepower is approximately 33,000 foot-pounds per minute. How many watts is this? [note: assume 1 kg = 2 pounds and 1 m = 3 feet]
I know that Watts = Joules/sec = kg m^2/s^3
33,000 ft lb/min x 1 min/60 sec x 1 kg/2 lb x 1 m/ 3 ft
~ 85 kg m/s
The units don't seem to work out in my attempt. Not sure where I am going wrong.
