I think this will be a helpful thread for those who are waitlisted at UMN. Let's see how helpful it can get 😉

-Please let us know if you are thinking about giving up your spot and/or when do you think you will do it... Or maybe if you did it already.

-If you know anyone that is going to withdraw, and they don't access SDN, you may post for him/her.

-If you are on the wait-list, please specify what rank you are/were? You don't have to be too specific, i.e. the thirties or the twenties.

-We may use a key to count how many spots are openning up at the end of each post as follows:

1 spot = I
2 spots = II
5 spots = IIIII
6 spots = IIIII - I
12 spots = IIIII - IIIII - II

and so on.

Let's see if this will work. Good luck for everyone!

I will start. I know one person who is giving up his spot after being accepted.

so, that is I. 🙂

There is already a UMN post somewhere, there might be other posts there. But just for you, I will withdraw. It's not going to do you much good unless you are lower than 60, but if you are 61, I'm a big help.

So far, all we have is one spot from students who are accepted.

I posted the following on another thread, and I would like to post it here too.

For those of you who received the email from the U, did you receive their mail, too? Or not yet? I have been checking my mail every single day and I had no luck... Did they send it out? If yes, what did the letter include? Did they have a number for the waitlist movement and what was it? Any other information would be great... Thanks

I already posted this in the other thread but in case you missed it...I will withdraw from my waitlist spot in the next few days probably because I just got off the waitlist at my top choice. I'm #6. Good luck 🙂

Thanks for posting again... It does help ALOT actually... I was just saying this because you were saying that it might help alittle... 🙂 Thanks again..

I don't think that the wait-list has made any major moves yet... At least we can still keep track of what's happening...

I think UMN is an excellent school, but I just got off the waitlist at a school that I prefer. I will be withdrawing, and I hope that someone who really wants the spot gets it!

To make it more of a count, I know of THREE people who said that they WOULD withdraw from the university of MN in the soon FUTURE. Do I know if they did it already? No I don't. But at least we have a count of three. By the way, they all post SDN, too.

So, acceptance withdraw = III . I hope that helps

I'm currently on the MInnesota waitlist...I'm planning on waiting as long as I can. I am in at another school, but I'd much rather stay here. So for the record, I was original #30 on the waitlist and would likely withdraw in the first week of August.
