Hello All! saw alot of this in the forums. Continuing Review at Buffalo is not an eventual rejection, but if you do recieve this it means they passed on you for an interview, and may offer you an interview at a later date...

that said, i have never heard of someone getting an interview after being placed on continuing review

if buffalo is your dream school and you were placed on the continuing review list, do not give up all hope but i would treat as if you are not going to get an interview

good luck, the first weeks at buffalo have been amazing! hope to see you all there next year 🙂

thanks for the info Cellbio!!! UB was my #1 so i've still got my fingers crossed but i did get an interview at NYU and have 10 other schools to still hear back from

Maybe they have a new system of interviewing people...UB does have a new Dean of Dental Medicine. I am trying to be hopeful as well.

i mean if they are not sending out rejections and they keep sending on these continue reviewing letters... there are 21 cycles more left, which means after they done selectively picking all the "excellent" people from most of the cycles. and if they have enough spots they might come back for us.

To be honest I strongly believe its a REJECTION. just put in little less harsh words than other schools.

Yeah but since we have not seen the word reject we should try our best to keep our hopes up...we might never know.

👍 me too. until i have it in writing that i was denied admissions to the school there's still hope

is under review the same as continuing review? mine says continuing review. Mailing date 7/16. status changed to recieved/under review on 8/18. am i doomed too?

I don't think so. Mine says "under review" as well and I think that just means they've received your application, they still need to get to it/review it, and will get to it in this month. My mailing date was 7/23 and I talked to Barbara a couple of weeks ago and she said they would be "processing" my mailing in the next 2 weeks, so I'm hoping to hear something anytime....

no its not. for continuing review you will get an email stating that you are in continuing review pile.

I also got an invitation for an interview yesterday!! It said that there will be a 10 minute case scenario discussion. Does anyone know what types of questions they ask?

Also what is their interview like? Any advice at all would be helpful.

I'm sure a lot of you will be contacted soon also. Don't lose hope!!!

i cant speak from personal experience but from what i understand the case scenario is an ethics question, Dr. Brown gives you a tough situation that may occur and wants to know how you'd handle it

there's also a writing portion to Buffalo's interview good luck!! are you from NY by any chance? until a ton of in staters start getting interviews im not gonna get down about it 😎

When did you all get this email notification? I haven't heard from them yet, only AADSAS complete/under review. Mailing date 7/23. Mad secondary payment before then.

Also, how many people will interview us? Is it a group interview where there are other students being interviewed as well or individual interviews?

i dont know what the essay topic is, i think it changes every year and from what ive heard its really short and simple just there to make sure you can read and write english or what the scenario would be but if you're an ethical person you shouldnt have a problem with it. as for the interview, its one on one 🙂

Interview is not one on one. It is either 2:1 or 3:1.

the majority of interview feedback indicates that interviews were done individually. Could you validate your statement please?

Valigator00 is right that they are 2:1 or 3:1. By that he/she means that it is either one faculty member and one 4th year student or 2 faculty members and 1 fourth year student.

I know because I was interviewed there 2 years ago and wait-listed. Went back and got my MS and am going for my second try this year. Interview 9/24
