What do you guys think of these programs?

I have talked to some residents and fellows on my interview trail and people seem to have love or hate attitudes towards either one of the two programs.
Why is that? They either love UH and hate CCF or the other way around.
Even attendings have the same polarized attitudes.

As a CC resident I've had a different experience. I've never really seen or heard our attendings talk about UH. I once asked one the history of the two health systems expansions and overall business practice in NE Ohio and learned an interesting view point on the pros/cons of various acquistions by the two.

I only applied to CCF and not UH or Metro and with minimal interaction with UH residents I can't comment on their program or culture. What I can say is that I love our program. I respect the accumen of our staff, their supportiveness, and appreciate the educational/service balance of the residency. When on call we work very hard but the clinical exposure you get to diversity of cases makes it a good learning experience upon reflection. Co-residents are hard workers and a blast to hang with outside of work. Life is good here and I love my job!

I suppose that makes me a lover of CCF? LOL.
