Last year 2 batches were called for IV, one in August and another one in Sept, Each batch had 50 student (100 in all)-- 100 candidates : 24 seats. If you are an Indian and a female, chances are high that you will get in!!!
This is the closest estimation about what was asked, last year on the bench exam, if I am wrong in any of the preps asked, please feel free to correct me
Day1 : Lunch will be provided.
1st batch: Class 2 amalgam DO on first mandibular molar
Class 2 composite MO on Max first or second premolar
PFM on Max Central Incisor
Big Class 2 Amalgam restorations on mandi first molar (DO). Cavity design provided
Class 2 composite restoration on premolar (MO or DO).Cavity design provided
2nd batch: Class 2 amalgam MO on second mandibular molar
Class 2 composite MO on Max first or second premolar
PFM on Max Central Incisor. Check for occlusion clearance.
Big Class 2 Amalgam restorations on mandi first molar (DO). Cavity design provided
Class 2 composite restoration on premolar (MO or DO).Cavity design provided
In all practice your Class 2s well on Mandi/Max, MO/DO, Molars/Premolars. Any possible combo can be asked. Be prepared for PFM on Max CI or canines.(on rare occasions PFM/FGC on post) .Amalgam and composite restorations are normal and easy.
DAy 2: Morning starts with presentations followed by single IV by two people for 30 mins. General Qs about your resume, long term goals, why buffalo etc etc.
In all: The bench exam is very relaxed and sufficient time is provided. The IVs are very relaxed too. All the faculty and people at buffalo are genuinely very nice and comforting. Its a good school, only drawback is that its the most costliest school followed by UOP. Also after charging with so much money they dont provide you with any food on second day.(Buaaaah!!). Dont forget to visit Niagara, it will be the one trip you wont forget ever.
All the best!!!
