Hey all, I just received my acceptance materials from UBuffalo today in the mail. In one of the things they tell you to sign it says: I understand that the School of Dental Medicine does not anticipate offering a clinical licencing examination in the 2011-12 academic year and beyond.

Here's from the packet"

As of January 1, 2007, the state of new york requires successful completion of an American Dental Association accredited post-doctoral residency program as a requisite for denta licensure eligibility. A clinical licensing examination is no longer a requirement for dental licensure in New York State. Therefore, the SDM does not anticipate offering a clinical licensing examination in the 2011-12 academic year and beyond.

So pretty much that means I have to do the 1 year GPR residency to practice in new york? How does this work if I wanna practice in like another state. Where would I go for that exam?

Anyone planning to practice in NY or CA will be required to do a 1 year GPR. I'm not sure if other states require GPR though.

does california require the final licensing exam? So pretty much U buffalo is eliminating offering nbde II? not too sure how this works. I'm from California and will probably move back after dental school, so that's why I'm asking.
