Does anyone know if KUMC is rolling admissions? I've heard from some people that they accept only the very best after each interview session, give the rest a score, and put them into a pool. Then once they've completed the interviews they go through and accept the top "however many" from the pool. Is this true, or do they just accept a bunch as they go?

"A rolling admissions process is used, with all applicants notified of final decisions by early February."

From the website:

You have it correct. They told us that they would only accept a handfull of applicants from each round of interviews and then put the rest back into the pool. They then send out a letter of acceptance or a hold letter. There system works using a computer program that assigns a numerical score to each applicant. After the scores are compiled, the applicants are ranked and an arbitrary value for admission/hold is established by the committee. Those with scores above the line are sent acceptances, below get holds. However, they said that the hold applicants are put back in each time they finish an interview round, so it is possible that the new cut-off line will be moved down and an acceptance will be sent.

Cheers,

Has anyone heard from KU recently??? I'm desperately waiting to hear something.

"We anticipate that these additional acceptance letters, as well as alternate list and denial letters, will be mailed to applicants by March 1."

Thats what my "On hold" letter said.
