My PTCAS app was mailed 9/11 I and had my final letter submitted by the end of the month. It sounds like their rolling admissions process is pretty instantaneous as people are posting acceptances and rejections already. If I haven't heard anything at all from them, should I assume I'm rejected? Anyone know how their process works?

Hey there! I interviewed with them October 3rd. They invited me for an interview before my PTCAS application was even sent (e-submitted 9/5, mailed 9/25) I know of some folks who applied early and were already rejected. I'd say the fact that you haven't heard anything isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Hi! I interviewed on 9/17, and got my acceptance on 10/8. They would definitely email you on whether you got an interview or were denied. I would assume they were waiting to review your application after it was complete so you will hopefully hear soon!

Ok, sounds like no word at all is better than an immediate rejection. I can live with that. I'm sort of expecting to be rejected because they admit such a low percentage of out of state students and my stats aren't exactly spectacular. Just hope they lay the smack down soon. Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to those with an upcoming interview!

Did anyone who interviewed Oct 3rd get accepted yet? UMB said it takes 2-3 weeks after the interview...

THey will send you a rejection letter if you dont get in. I got in last year, but when I talked with Ms. Jackson (whoooo, I am for real!! sorry, had to do it) she told me that they would send me a letter either way telling me I got in or rejected....and I was from out of state, so keep your head up and dont write yourself off yet. They like to bring diversity to the program, so if you interview let them know how diverse you are.

I haven't heard anything yet! Does your supplemental application still say that requirements are outstanding? I've submitted everything but my app says I still have things to submitt.

Mine is the same thing. Don't worry about it because its because in the supp application it also ask for recommendation, transcript, etc. and I asked UMB and they say that applicants do not need to upload it again into the supp (since we did it in PTCAS). That is why the application status reads incomplete

You will probably get acceptances next week. I know that the students have their fall break this entire week so I'm not sure if admissions has off too! Good Luck! I hope to see you guys there next summer!

Ah, so if you get outright rejected pre-interview you find out via snail mail? Do they notify you about an interview the same way or is that via email? I'm gonna laugh heartily at myself if I've been checking my email neurotically for no reason.

I think they do all notifications via email, whether is acceptance or rejection. I got emails for both the interview and final decision via email. The acceptance packet was sent via snail mail after an email with the decision.

Thanks for that, member 0530. Going on 3 weeks post-application. I suck at this waiting game. Let the email checking continue.

I'm hoping they get back to us this week since they said it usually takes three weeks after interview. I just want to know...

I would figure we are going to hear back at some point this week, if not the next day or two. but that could be just wishful thinking

Some of the folks who interviewed with us on 10/3 officially heard back today. Any luck for you guys? My inbox is still empty. Luckily I have an interview tomorrow to take my mind off of it LOL

No I haven't heard back yet. I shot them an email yesterday asking for updates.

DPT21 do you know if it was all acceptance when they officially heard back? because if it is then UMB is letting the acceptance people know ASAP and the others they will take their time to put them on waitiing list

Im not sure but I thinking they just sent out acceptances and they are going to make the rest of us cook!

so anyone hear back?? sorry im so impatient :/

I still haven't even heard back since initially applying (app complete Oct 1). No rejection, no interview, nothing. I feel like they were probably closed today because of Sandy, I know my parents and friends had no work/school.

So this is what I've been thinking. According to PTCAS, 75% of their class is composed of in-state students. Although my stats are not the strongest, I know people who interviewed who are out of state with excellent stats and have not heard back. There are also in-state students with relatively weaker stats who have been accepted. I'm guessing as they roll through some of the in-state people we will begin to hear back.

Another bit of interesting info. According to the APTA website, 60% of students who interview at UMB receive acceptances (according to a three year average). Take that as you will....lol

Qtran, when did they notify you about being put on the waitlist?

I called Angel, she does pt admissions so she can tell you your status and the reasonings behind it.

I haven't heard anything yet but I'm sick of calling them and dont want to be a pest. I'm just gonna assume I'm waitlisted for an interview or something and call it a day.

Where is this info on the APTA website? Do they have it for other schools as well?

HashtagDPT, I see that you are interviewing at Duke. Here's a direct quote form the APTA website about Duke:

"For the class that started in 2012, 683 students applied, 647 completed applications, 145 were interviewed, and 127 of those were offered admission to the program. The ranges in scores for academic performance for the middle 50% of students accepted into the incoming class were as follows: Graduate Record Exam: verbal, 49 - 78 percentile; quantitative, 54 - 77 percentile; and writing, 45 - 72 percentile; overall grade point average (GPA) 3.62 – 3.86; natural science GPA, 3.47 – 3.81."

I think your chances of getting an acceptance are pretty high!

Has anyone who interviewed on 10/31 heard whether they got accepted, rejected, or wait listed? I haven't heard back and Angel hasn't responded to my email, so I'm assuming I got rejected/wait listed. :-/

Hey I applied as well to the UMB program and still have yet to hear anything reguarding my status. I applied 8/22/12 and im an in state resident.😱

I'll come right out and say that this school's communication is both weird and annoying. First, they "missed" 65+ of my hours that were on my application, then corrected themselves, then told me I would "definitely" be invited to interview based on finally "noticing" I had more hours completed than they initially thought. That was almost 2 months ago and I never heard back. Good thing I got interviews at other schools and don't really care either way at this point. I feel bad for people still waiting to hear back from an October interview! I'm new to all this, but that can't be normal...

I interviewed in early October and still haven't heard back. They've ignored my emails. I agree with everything you said nomattic. No other school has been so unwilling to communicate with prospective students as UMBC has.

Do you think I should call or just forget about it. I am a Md res but they are ranked really high (19) so I dont know if I even have chance I have 3.3 cum and a 3.6 pre req but Idk at this rate. Im waiting for other schools and got declined from Columbia, Drexel, Temple and Utica
