I'm not certain whether or not there is an existing thread for this. I thought there might have been but i've been unable to locate it. Nevertheless, on Friday I received an e-mail stating my acceptance to University of Michigan - Flint. I still have an interview with Wayne State University next week but I most likely will not accept the offer if given. U of M was my number one school and I am certainly excited to be accepted. Who else was accepted?

I was accepted but declined the offer. In past years it's been until the 28th of February until people have heard back. There is a thread called UM-Flint that I posted a few weeks ago and a current flint student is on there if you have specific questions about the program. The URL for the thread is http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/um-flint.1052491/

Congrats on getting accepted! They have a great program.

Thank you so much hopefulapplicant I just recently got an e-mail acceptance from Nova Southeastern as well.

Hello, I am alternate #2 on the list...So as long as 2 people decline their acceptance ill be in...wondering if anyone else has declined their offer to UM Flint.

dptdreams, it really does depend on a few things. The class size is suppose to be 60 but they do accept about 70ish counting on those extra 10ish to go to different schools. However, the big factor is if those students do choose to go to different schools.

Take my class for example. UM Flint class of 2016 (last years class) accepted 72 students. Only 4 of those students went elsewhere and everyone decided to stay at UM Flint. But this actually proved to be a big problem for the faculty since they had to figure out how to accommodate 8 extra students...lol So this is where i will probably get your hopes up a bit. Our profess have mentioned that the number of acceptances will probably decrease a bit since our class decide to complicate things for them..lol Also, what happened with my class was kind of a not so common thing to happen.. Hopefully for your class, those 'extra' students pick other schools for your sake!

At any rate, the point of my post is to give you an idea of what you should expect and what I've personally heard being a current student. I understand this process and how it can be nerve wrecking...especially in your case! Also keep in mind that students can change their mind at the last minute too. One student showed up to orientation in July and decided to go to Wayne State instead so it can happen at any time. I heard a case from a different school last year that someone quit their program a week in. The professors called the next person on the alt list and that student accepted and moved and everything a week after classes started...lol Just keep your phone close and good luck!! Let me know if you get in!

I called up there and talked to them about it... she said I am #62. They only accepted 60 students this year. She made it seem like last year was a bit of an aberration. I feel like I have a good shot... I think I only need one more person to chose another school.

Haha yeah it definitely was! That is really good to hear then for your sake! I would be shocked if they ALL chose UM Flint...
