Hi everyone,

Does anyone know how U Michigan alternate list works? Is it ranked? When do people on the list start hearing good news from the school?

Any info is appreciated.

That is the only thing I found: "Some candidates may be offered an alternate position. We maintain an unranked alternate list each year so that if the class falls below capacity, we may select an alternate for that seat. In some years, a few students are moved into the class from the alternate list, while in other years, no candidates have been selected."

It sounds like the alternative list from Midwestern.

I think the difference between waitlist and alternative list is the fact that waitlist rank you whereas alternative list doesn't rank you. (but I don't think that makes any difference...)

I was on Midwestern University alternative list until last week and got accepted.
I think Michigan list will move soon too or maybe it already started to move.

well not sure about Michigan but Midwestern calls you and your status is updated on their website.
