University of Michigan vs. University of Detroit.

Hello everyone,

Can anyone help to choose on of these two schools. I've been interviewed at both schools, and i like them a lot.
Univ. of detroit has a newer dental school (1997) and have much better clinical work, while Mich is better at research.
so what do you think people? which one is better? I need as much input as possible, i would really appreciate it.

It depends on what you want to do. If you which to exit dental school confident with your abilities to practice dentistry, go to UDM. This is why I will choice UDM and travel from warm So. Cal. Maybe UM is better if you with to specialize. I did not interview at UM yet; they are ignoring me right now.

Who interviewed you? How did you like the interview, and did they accept you already?

Wolf125 the choice of which school you want to go to is completely your own choice and you should be careful about being influenced by others. If you want opinions though I can do that.

Do I like UDM: Hell yes.
Are there things about UDM I don't like: Yep but they don't outweight the positives.

Is UDM better than U of M: no
Is U of M better than UDM: no

Each school is different with different strenghts and weaknesses. You need to decide which schools strenghts and weakness best match with you. Things that I suggest you look at are: school distance from family/friends, facilities, cost, class size, school neighborhood, clinical strength, research reputation, national reputation and any number of other factors that I can't think of right now.

Midoc is absolutely right. You should not be asking us about your choice; you should be think about all the factor he brought up and make your own sound decision. You must have interviewed at both schools so you should know alot of both of them.
