So I just received an acceptance from Pitt today! I noticed that I was asked to respond about my intent to attend by November 30. There is a $500 non-refundable tuition deposit fee to secure your place.

I'd still like to see what other offers I get before I commit to Pitt 100% though. I suppose I'll just have to eat the $500 fee in the meantime. 🙂

Anyway, I just had to share! Has anyone else heard back yet? I'm curious if November 30 is a universal deadline for everyone, or if that date will vary from person to person.

Congratulations! I received the acceptance in addition to the November 30th deadline for deposit. One thing you might want to consider so that you might not eat the deposit is to contact both Pitt and the other schools you are applying to to see if you can match up their notifications and the Pitt deadline. Pitt may be able to extend it and other schools may be able to bump your notification up. $500 is not exactly chump change!

Also, to those of you who have not yet heard, it is still early and I have heard that Pittsburgh sometimes staggers these e-mails. I received mine last week.

Again, congrats. Are you going to the open house this weekend?

Yeah, $500 definitely isn't chump change for me. I'm not sure if I'll be able to avoid it since one of the schools I'm interested in takes quite awhile to decide. What I might do though is make Pitt my #2 choice overall.

I will be occupied this weekend, but the Preview Pitt day sounds nice!

I was contacted via email. I was rather shocked since I wasn't expecting a response that early. Their deadline for applying isn't until mid-December, so sending out acceptances is probably just getting started.
 
Congrats on getting accepted! Best of luck with any other schools you applied to. They received my application about 3 weeks ago so I'm not too worried about it. That'd be a crazy fast turnaround.
 
Congrats on the acceptance i recieved one from pitt as well. I just emailed admissions to see if they could give me a tour around the campus as well as fill me in with information about the program. Ill let you know what they say.

I received an acceptance letter via email today! I was starting to lose hope as others received theirs...shame on me!
 
congrats! When did you have your materials in to them by? They received my materials about 4 weeks ago but I have not heard anything yet.

Thank you. Yes I have the same deadline. I am hoping that another program I applied to responds soon so I can make my final decision.
 
Does Pitt send an email when they have received all of the required materials?
 
I just got an email being accepted to Pitt as well!! I'm pumped! First b/c i honestly didnt think that I would get into Pitt, and second, that its my first acceptance anywhere...

Rangardrum, how long from the time PTCAS mailed your materials out until you heard back? It has been about 4-5 weeks for me now.
 
Just wanted to post, because about this time last year when people started getting accepted to Pitt, I started panicking (when I hadn't) and sure enough, they must stagger them because I got my acceptance at the beginning of November... so to those who applied this year, it is way too early to freak out- they will be handing out acceptances for quite some time!

Hey! Anyone accepted to Pitt this year that committed, but will be declining ? I'm curious of those who are yet to decline and not those that declined awhile back. From what I learned, they have an over-filled class and have not yet dipped into the waitlist.
 
I'm waiting to hear from Baylor, but if I don't get admittance there then its between Texas State and Arcadia
 
Random question...Does anyone know the names of the faculty people on the admission committee?
