Fellow DPT candidates,

For those who recently interviewed at the University of the Pacific, has anyone heard back regarding acceptances? I absolutely loved my interview experience: from the campus tour to the interview itself. Everyone was very down to Earth. It was all about getting to know you as a person. Gauging your answers to see if you will be a good fit for the DPT program. By the time I was finished, I felt more connected to the students and staff of UoP than I did while doing my undergrad.

When/If anyone hears anything about acceptances or wait lists in the coming days, please feel free to post to this thread. And if you could include the day you interviewed, either the 21st or 28th of February, it would be greatly appreciated! Curious to see the correlation between date interviewed/acceptances.

Thanks All! May great news be heading your way!

I interviewed on the 28th, and they told me I could expect a decision within a month. If I understood my tour guides correctly, each of the three panelists rates the interviewee from 1-10, and the average is your interview score. That gets factored in with the rest of the stats (no idea how the interview is weighted), and the packet goes to a larger panel. After that panel does its work and makes its recommendations, it sounded like the final decision is made by the program chair.

My guess is we have at least a couple more weeks to wait.

I interviewed on the 21st and I got a call for my acceptance yesterday morning!

Wow, nevermind! Congrats, Matt, and best of luck to everyone else.

Wow that was fast! Congrats! Is that where you want to go Matt? I interviewed on the 21st as well but haven't heard anything.

Hi guys,

I got a phone call from my interviewer yesterday at around 2pm on our house phone from UOP. Unfortunately, I had missed the call and the voicemail did not specify whether I am accepted or not. It simply said give Rosie a call back since my interviewer will not be available next week. Now this wait until Monday is killing me!!!! My interview was on March 21st. Is anybody else in my situation?!!

Lasombra, thanks for filling me in on the selection process! This has been a looooooong process, and I am just eager to find out "yay" or "nay." I will keep you posted if/when I hear something. Good luck to you as well!

Additionally, if you do not mind me asking, which faculty member served on your interview panel? For my interviewer, I had Dr. Mansoor. He came out "guns blazing" with his questions. But after the first few minutes, I felt very calm and relaxed with the questions being asked of me.

Don't know if it was a good or bad thing, but my interview went nearly 40 minutes in duration. It did not feel like 40 minutes, but it was indeed nearly 40 minutes. Yet my panel never gave any indication that they wanted to stop talking to me. Guess I will take that as a good thing since there was never a pause or awkward silence within those 40 minutes. Only time will tell. . .

Until next time. . .

4744,

Thank you for opening up about your experience with the wait list! It gives me hope that I may have a greater chance of getting in than I had originally thought. Much appreciated and congrats on your recent acceptance into this year's class!

As a PT student here at UOP, I'd just like to say welcome to the family!
