Hey everyone,

I was looking at the admissions statistics and noticed that u of t is harder to get in than harvard?

the average GPA and MCAT for U of T and Harvard:
-University of Toronto = 3.89 and 33R
-Harvard = 3.8 and 35

I know that it is much harder to get into canadian medical schools.

Would you say it is harder to get into U of Toronto than Harvard??

harvard. Sure, UT has a slightly higher GPA, but Harvard has a higher MCAT + I bet the ECs/research/pubs of people accepted at Harvard are >>>>> UT.

Yeah OP...because a +0.09 GPA and 2 points lower on the MCAT indicates the school is harder to get into...SWEET JESUS!

Next thing you know, people will say nursing school/PA school is harder to get into than medical school due to the limited spots...oh wait.

No. Toronto is 20 times harder to get into...if your American.

You're comparing the median MCAT for Toronto with the average MCAT for Harvard. If we're comparing medians, the median for Harvard is a 36R, which is 3 points above Toronto's. Ontario schools have a heavy emphasis on GPA. I know because I'm a Canadian that has applied to solely Canadian schools this cycle.

I also want to point out that the median for Harvard is a 3.9 GPA. Canadian schools are, on average, tougher to get into if you are a Canadian citizen than if you were an American applying to American schools, but I don't know if you can say that U of T is harder to get into than Harvard.
