I'm leaning towards Utah at the moment, although I haven't committed yet...still considering Creighton and Nevada.

Utah being a state school (which people outside of the profession will actually recognize) seems more desirable in my opinion. But if you want a christian school, or a three year school more (if you mean USN), then the others would seem more appealing.

Ya Im moving to SLC from queen creek AZ. I need to find a place to live for me and my wife and possibly her cousin. I dont know where the traffic is bad and all that. If I end up commuting to school, I don't want to have to drive through heavy traffic every day. Any suggestions? Where I live right now, a 30 min. commute is nromal for anywhere I want to go. We are in a brand new subdivision in a suburb of Phoenix.🙁

You might reduce that 30 min commute down to a 25 min commute in slc. The house market here is like nothing ever happened, the prices have stayed the same or gone up. Renting a 2 - 3 bed house or townhouse close the U (assuming the house is not condemned) runs around 1,400 a month. A small 2 bed apartment will run at 975 at the lowest. Anything remotely close the the U is a little spendy. But pretty much anything in the valley will be around 25 - 30 min to school depending on what time of day. 45 - 50 min max in bad traffic. You might find something you like in the Avenues which would be around a 10 min commute to school, but for the size you may be looking for it would be around 1500 a month.

Im starting to realize that im gonna be in huge debt after Pharmacy school. So im thinking i should look at spending like around 750 a month. So you say the avenues is a close area to the U? Ill check that out. But ive found many places down by murray and the west valley? are those a pretty far drive? also do you know of areas that I should definitely stay away from? My wife likes to go walking alot and Ill probably be at school alot at night while shes at home. Thanks for your help. I look forward to meeting you at the orientation on the 20th.😀

A 2 bed apartment for 750 is going to be difficult to find. I would go with Murray if you can find a good place there. The traffic sucks at times there but it's freaking impossible in west valley. Plus Murray is closer the U anyway. As far as the safety of a loved one taking an evening stroll, some parts of west valley are pretty rough as well as some parts in Murray. It just depends on the neighborhood. You will know once you get here and start cruising around. Generally speaking, any 5 block radius around State St at any south coordinate is not the place I would want my wife practicing her speed walking.

so I thought the UofU took all their students from the state of utah. hmm-did they change this when USN opened their South Jordan campus? What is the ratio of residents to non-residents in the class? Also I recently heard that the U plans to up their pharmacy program from 45 to 70. USN just upped their Utah class from 80 to 90. In my class of 80 I'd bet 60 or more of us are from Utah. It looks like pharmacy practice in Utah may soon be saturated. Fun Fun!
