I just had a question regarding the RIDE program... I saw in a really old thread that students were first accepted and then found out later if they were going to be in RIDE or not. So does that mean they don't think about choosing people for RIDE until after they interview and accept people? Is there a separate interview for RIDE?

i just messaged you back....

but yes. they accept all 63 students first...then look and see who applied to RIDE

63? Doesn't UW accept only 55 dental students?

It's a shame. I wouldn't mind doing the RIDE program but I'd rather stay in the Seattle metropolitan area.

Same. What are you putting for your preference on the secondary?

I'll probably check "I would be pleased to accept a position at either site," but I won't answer the third essay question. I'm not even sure why they have the preference question.

Don't you have to answer the 3rd essay question if you check off that you're interested in RIDE? I'm fairly sure that you have to do the additional RIDE essay if you want to be considered for RIDE...

btw to those who are considering RIDE: several admissions people have said that usually all applicants who are selected to be a part of RIDE have some kind of tie to the eastern WA area (either grew up there, spouse and kids are there, etc. etc). I guess it doesn't hurt to apply even if you don't...but still. Just a heads up!

You're right, I'm not going to check both.
