I noticed on previous forums that students have reported UW decisions were released on and around February 10th via the graduate school application site. Has anyone's status on the graduate school application site changed or has anyone received an email from UW Admissions?

Nothing yet. Their website says they will notify by mid-February, but if you check your application at the top it says they will notify by late February... I hope it's sooner rather than later! There are also a bunch of people in past application cycles that said they received their notice via paper mail rather than email. But the method of notification seems to be different for a lot of people.

Good luck!!

I believe they stated decisions should arrive around the end of the month.

I'm aware notifications are to be sent out by the end of February - I was just curious if anyone has heard back yet as it is already mid-February and people from previous years have already heard around this date! Thanks!

On the UW PrePT facebook page one of the professors said not to expect to hear anything back until after the 13th - and then possibly a few days after. So I would assume we should start hearing back soon.

I am now trying to decide between UW and CU Denver and I'm having such a hard time 🙁 I've been to Denver many times but have never been to Seattle. I feel like I need to make a quick trip before I make a decision.

Seattle is a neat city! I've never been to UW campus, but have only heard good things from alumni, and am hoping to make it up there as well before the decision date. I'm assuming UW would be out of state for you as well? The cost is a bit daunting, especially when Northwestern (super expensive also) is about $20k cheaper...but hey, at least these are good decisions to have to make 🙂

The big difference is going to be 300 days of rain and clouds or 300 days of sunshine.

Yeah I need to call and ask them about the whole in-state/out-of-state residency thing. I am hoping I would be able to get in-state tuition after the first year, but I've read other places that it's pretty difficult. The thing is that I would be moving there with my husband (who will be finding a job) and we would plan to live there for awhile.

I am trying to plan a visit there in the next two weeks but the program director told me I wouldn't be able to meet with anyone or get a tour of the facilities because the demand is too high, so that's unfortunate :/

Congrats to those who have been offered acceptance! I just now received an email for alternate status, but I was not told my position on the list.

This is a long shot, but do any current students or alumni have any comments on their experience in the program? There isn't much information online, and the department was able to answer my questions via email, but they don't offer tours and I was hoping to get a better feel for what it's like to actually attend UW. I had the opportunity to visit another school I was admitted to, and loved it, but in addition to being a great program, UW is closer to home which is appealing. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Received my email late Feb. Currently on the alternate list. Fingers crossed. I am from Seattle so it would be wonderful to stay!

I have a friend who graduated last year from DPT there and she told me the curriculum is relatively heavier with neuro studies as compared to other schools I visited/interviewed that were more ortho study intensive. I found that distinction interesting.

I currently work with a recent UW dpt grad and assisted a UW dpt student.
According to them, the program is great; however you will thrive if you are an independent learner .

Not sure what you want to focus on but like someone else said they do focus more on neuro and most profs are hesitant with some joint mobilizations.

Just received an email as well!

If you both don't mind me asking, did you end up accepting or declining your position?

Thanks for the info! I've heard nothing but good things, but a little bummed they don't do an admitted students day.

I'm waiting to hear back from my first choice...so if I don't get in there, then I will likely accept UW's offer.

Good luck!

Good luck to you as well! I misunderstood and thought those offered positions were given 14 days to respond, which is why I asked so soon. Best of luck!

Hello all, I am reviving this thread to see if any of you ended up accepting the offer and your reviews on communication between professors and teacher to student raito. I am also very interested on your stats. I am heavily set on practicing neuro and hopefully obtaining a spot not only with their DPT program but the NCS residency program.
