In some of the trickier Math Destroyer questions, I'll look at the answers and do quick math in my head to get the answer, rather than doing an equation. For example: on the question "A 15 oz box of raisin bland cereal contains 3 oz. of raisins. How many oz of raisins must be added to the box so that its raisin content is raised to 25% by wt.?", I looked at the question for a little and didn't have an equation quickly come to my head. So instead I looked at the answer choices and quickly saw that adding one oz. (an answer choice) would raise the total weight to 16 and the raisin weight to 4, which is 25%. If I am doing this maybe 4 or so times per test, should I stop? If it's consistent, then is there a reason for me to try and find the real equations and do it that way so that it's a 100% answer rate? I'm getting through these long explanations in just a few seconds, but I'm afraid that the real DAT's answer choices wont be such nice and apparent numbers.
