I know this is shocking to hear given my past posts but like actually I’m starting to really enjoy being the oldest person in my classes, the only one with white hairs.

I have kids in my classes who just graduated high school looking up to me for answers related to having a healthcare career or serving as unofficial mentor/college guide. It feels oddly nice taking them under my wing and letting them know stuff like It’s okay to email a professor about homework question outside office hours or how they can get a history elective substituted with a CLEP test.

I’ve become the older sibling/parental figure to a few kids and I kind of really enjoy it.

It's an unpopular opinion? Been a prof, been mentoring for a long time now. Similar age as M1.

45 year old Sophomore here. Yeah...I got the gray.

I enjoyed this too! Not only was I able to mentor others, but I also feel like I have a much better head on my shoulders. I don't care about the social life much anymore (not a bad thing for those that do, I'm just not in that stage of life anymore), which means I have more time to focus on academics and career goals. I have a much better time management system than when I was in school the first go-around, don't procrastinate (as much), don't get panicked over small things, and actually WANT TO LEARN. It has really helped both my premed and med school journey.

A lot of people have a weird fear of being "too old" for school when they're like 28. It's very silly.
Awww, 28 feels like such a baby to me haha
