Does anyone know where to locate the Univ. of Nevada SoM match list for previous years? They used to have a link on their website, but as far as I can see, it is no longer there.

I'm a student here. I think I have the documents somewhere. I'll try and find them a bit later and post them.

Nevermind- they have a couple years on the website. Go here and then scroll over "student life". The match stuff will come up for the Class of 2004 and 2005. I have a PDF of last year's Match (the class I was supposed to graduate with, but took a year off); if you want that one I'll try and post it.

Ah, that is where it is at. Thanks. No, you don't have to post last years if you don't want. I am just curious to see what type of spots UNSoM students land, as I plan to go there in a few years.

and why exactly do you want to go there?

Probably for the same reasons that everyone else goes here: close to home, cheap (~$10K/yr tuition + lots of need based scholarships available-almost everyone gets one every year), and solid clinical training at the county hospital in Vegas. I have no doubts that my clinical education has been comparable, if not better, than some of my friends at private and "top" schools. In the end though you get out what you put in.

Sure. But I wouldn't want to be in a class with a convicted cheater who was allowed to still finish his M.D.:

What kind of moral fiber does that show on the part of the administration???

I'm sure that there isn't a single medical student at any medical school in the US who hasn't questioned a decision made by administration regarding school policy, procedures, or curriculum. How much actual interaction have I had with the administration? About one day's worth in 4 years. They have had very little impact on my day-to-day education. As to being in class with people who cheat, I'm sure this is not unique to our school--it just may have been more widely publicized due to this going to court. A one year suspension will hurt this student as he applies to residency, and follow him through the rest of his career--so while I agree with you that he should be removed, don't think that this won't have any impact on his future. All I can say is that I have been happy with my education, if you want to bash the administration, go ahead, but realize that they have very little impact on your day-to-day education (other than changes to the curriculum). By the way, moral fiber is overrated in this profession-- you find liars, abusers, and hypocrits everywhere in medicine, its not unique to Nevada.

I just thought this was an interesting ethics issue. Its a small school from what I understand (60 students???) and when I applied there I researched it and found that they had a lot to prove without a lot of people willing to do the work to make a name for the school...just my humble opinion.

I'm not bashing your school, i'm sure lots of nevada docs are great, I just questioned the system
