Hello,

I really want a career in Biomedical science (specifically PhD). However, my bachelors is in sociology and my GPA was a 2.0. I am currently taking prereqs at a community college, then I plan on taking the GRE and hopefully getting into a MS program (probably Biology) and go from there. My question is- am I doing this in vain? Is my undegrad GPA too low to consider Grad school ? Or should I just start over (Associates-PhD)? Note-I would be funding the second bachelors myself.

Any advice is appreciated

Imo, it's not too late, focus on your strongest performance period (hopefully final year or two years) in college. The key to getting over the hill, is a strong GRE, so I would heavily focus on that. In your essays, focus on a logical and lock-step reason for why this is the logical next step for you. Don't start over and don't give up. Your admissions for PhD programs is all about your story and evidence of upward trajectory and maturity.
