So, I'm in the process of finishing my UNTHSC application since I wanted to get it in by October for ED. But, I have two classes that I'm taking this Fall that I am taking to raise my GPA and as a retake. I called admissions and asked if they would re-review my application once I send in a new transcript with those finished courses if I applied early, but the guy told me no, they won't re-review my application if I don't get accepted in the ED pile of applications.

So, now my problem is that I have to wait and miss ED since I know/read that applying ED you have a greater chance? But now I'm stuck waiting to apply til December once my new grades come in. Did anyone hear anything different? I'm just wanting to get my apps in asap...

Thanks!

ED will definitely give you a greater chance, but how much will your two classes increase your GPA? Are your numbers already pretty solid, or do you really need to wait for the grades?

@Kuhdaytee It's a retake of physics I that I have a C in which I feel I can make an A in. I really want to apply ED but I do think I would need these two classes to greater my chance but I don't know...how much of a greater chance is it?

Well, nobody can tell you anything if you haven't posted your before and after pre-req GPA, assuming that you actually get the A. If you're already at a 3.8, then I don't think it matters, but if it boosts you from a 3.3 to a 3.5, then that's quite a huge jump into a more competitive GPA.

@Kuhdaytee
Yeah, that is true and I might just end up waiting til later to fully submit my application, even though I don't like it.

Best of luck, either way! I have several schools that I have to use the update for, and some of them will send out invites before I can update my application, so I understand the frustration. :/
