At my undergrad, they report grades for undergrad research as IP or in progress for every term until you stop. Then you have to fill out paperwork to get them all changed to A's. Any ideas on how I should note this on AMCAS and should I explain this in my personal statement at all? I have a 3.868 gpa, and I don't want this IP to put a question mark into the minds of adcoms.

I think most schools work this way. I'm sure adcoms will know exactly what is happening...you can be graded on the research until it is completed. Instead of IP, I have a bunch of T's on my transcript for temporary.
