Just wondering if anyone has noticed any unusual application requirements for anesthesiology residency.

It appears that Univ. of Texas, Houston requires a college transcript, 2 division head/ chair letters and 3 recent photos?????

Anyone else come across requirements like these?

So they want people to send this on top of the ERAS application? the info above doesn't sound very correct to me.

I think you're looking at the application for "other" positions.

"Applications for PGY-1 and PGY-2 positions are made through ERAS. Applications for other positions can be made by printing and completing the application." from http://www.uth.tmc.edu/anes/residency/index.html

I was looking at this page, 1st paragraph:

http://www.uth.tmc.edu/anes/residency/residency-program-information.html

"Applicants must hold an M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada. Graduates from other medical schools must achieved an acceptable score both the English and medical portions of the FMGEMS examinations. All applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English. Applicants must provide a letter from the dean of the medical school they attended, as well as letters from the chair or program director of two clinical departments or divisions. Three recent photographs, official transcripts from the applicant's undergraduate college and medical school should be forwarded directly to the Department of Anesthesiology. Copies of the NBME, FLEX, USMLE, FMGEMS and/or ECFMG examination results are also required if they have been taken."

....... Do they mean IMG's only?

Not very clear, are they? I interpreted it as IMGs, but I could be wrong.

Last year I received an interview invite from them and I didn't submit all that stuff. Just my ERAS app.

whew... thanks for the info. Hopefully it hasn't changed from last year.

So anyone come across other programs requiring extra application materials?
