Hey guys, I'm currently in first year Life Science at UTSG and am planning to pursue pharmacy. I'm taking an introductory computer science course that's just way too much for me but I have already missed the deadline to drop - I thought I did well on the midterm and when I got it back it was too late - and am now considering a late withdrawal. Since we can apply so early for pharmacy school, I don't want a bad mark to be bringing my mark down, but at the same time Idk how well they'd look at a late withdrawal! 🙁 If you were me, would you rather have maybe a 60 or late withdrawal?

And for those who have late withdrawals and have applied to pharm school, did you get in on first try? And if not, would you say it's because of the LWD?

Thanks so much in advance!

Your late withdrawal or 60 would both kill your chances of getting into pharmacy school. Too bad. You can retake it, then try applying again. Good luck.

...April Fools. I doubt that it will matter unless if your course is a pharmacy school prereq, which it isn't under normal circumstances. I would lean toward dropping the course so that the class doesn't lower your GPA.

I have a W on my transcript and I got into a good pharmacy school. It may come up in the interview, in an interview day writing session, or you may have a chance to explain what the situation was in a supplemental application. Even if it never comes up it is fairly minor as long as you don't make it a habit and the rest of your CV looks good and is in order. TBH I would take the LWD and use that as a reminder to yourself about not overextending/slacking on your course work. Good luck!

Thanks a lot guys! I did end up late withdrawing it.
