anybody out there on the uop alternate list? are u planning to re-apply for 2006 despite acceptances for this year? i'm considering it and plan on submitting my application today.

I support your decision. There are many pluses if you think about it.

If you attend your chosen school, you'll pay about the same as you will for UOP. You'll spend one extra year in d-school. You'll have to move out of California and live in a city that you don't like much. I have heard that it would be difficult once you're done and want to practice in California. On top of everything, ...we may end up being classmates 😉

Just some advice. I don't know how many actually get in to the class from the list, but I have heard that if you are persistent you have a better chance. I've heard that for last year's class (2007) that some people got in off the waitlist just by showing up on the first year Orientation day, ready to fill out paperwork in case someone who was in the class didn't show. If you live close enough, try and stop by the school and maybe talk to someone in person.

Also, if you didn't know this already, most alternates are given unofficial acceptance for the next year (as long as you follow everything they say to do when reapplying).
