Hey guys…this is a post mainly for the UoP students, but if any pre-dents can help then please do.
I know there’s probably another thread out there for this but please help me out here. I’m going to be in San Francisco on Sat. Oct 27 until 31. I remember reading on here a while ago some students advertising rooms in their houses and I think a frat house or something along those lines. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could respond here or pm about this.
Thanks
Ps. I’m a guy I know it makes a difference sometimes.

Hey,

Wish I could help you, but I don't live alone and that's also a bad weekend for me since I'll be out of town Saturday and I'm sure my roommates wouldn't appreciate a person I didn't know hanging out while I'm not even in the city. But here's a couple options if you can't find anyone to let you crash:

It's a hostel on Sacramento about 6 blocks from school. It's a nicer type of hostel that has private rooms and private baths available if you want them. For a shared room and shared bath, you can get a price for as low as $210 for the week...it's probably cheaper than any hotel for 4 days even for a semi private accommodation. They book up fast though.

This is a motel I stayed at once and it's in a cool area right off Union St near the bars and shopping area and a hop away from the Marina. A cab ride to school is just $5 from here. The rates are decent, usually $75 to 85 a night, which is cheap for SF.

i stayed at the marina inn when i was up there... it wasn't so bad...i caught the mini bus to the school...it was less than a 20 mins ride and $1.50. It was easy to navigate. In the brochure the school sent out, it gives the website to the mini bus system. i just typed in the address of where i was coming from and to the school and it tells you exactly where to go. The marina inn cost me $68...another guy stayed at the queen anne and walked to the school...6 blocks...it was plesant walking around san fran...
have fun there...i really enjoyed the interview

i know that many med schools arrange to have a current student host the prospective students...i wonder why dental schools haven't arranged such a program yet???
