Ahhh! I have an interview next week with Pacific and I'm freaking out because this is my first interview! I've read the interview feedback for UoP but I was wondering if anyone who has interviewed there in the past couple weeks can shed light on their experience? Thanks! Any input would be very appreciated

I just interviewed there last week. My experience there was phenomenal. The faculty, students and fellow pre-dents were all great and very easy to talk to.

The schedule you find in the interview guide is exactly the agenda you will follow for the day. The student tour is very informative, and the students there are all smiling and seem very happy. They all say hello and are very welcoming. Both the student and faculty interview is very laid back and they really just want to get to know who you are. My student was cool and hilarious, he made the 30 min go by very quickly. The staff interview was almost the same, and the doctor asked really basic questions about myself, stuff on AADSAS and some basic dental questions related to my experience. My interview with the doctor was almost an hour long, but it went by really fast. Make sure you have questions to ask, they really like it if you have questions for them.

I'm sure you will find it very relaxing and informative. I felt that Pacific was not there to trick you at all. Instead, they just want to see who you are and what you're all about. They are very big on the humanistic model, and when you are there, you will definitely get a taste of what it actually is. They also want to see if you yourself believes that Pacific is the choice for you. Just stay relaxed and I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did. Good Luck!

Thanks for the valuable input Slo! I've read that the Dean actually says outright that getting accepted is the easiest part. Did he say anything along those lines this time? haha

haha i agree with everything SLO said. It was definitely a pretty chill interview. However, they did not say anything about getting accepted outright. I hope pre dec means that though because i just cancelled a few of my other interviews haha🙁

Always happy to help whenever I can. I also did not hear about getting accepted being the easiest thing. Although I do agree with SFdent, I really hope I get accepted, it's my top choice!

I hope pre dec means that too! I'm so glad it's not a hot seat type of interview

I actually meant that the dean said, "Getting the interview is the hardest part, getting accepted is the easiest." I read that in the interview feedback. I hope this still stands lol. UoP is my top choice too! I fell in love with the program after attending Pacific Pride Day last April

As long as you don't act awkwardly, say or act unprofessionally, or show a lack of interest in dentistry and the school; I think the chance of you getting in is preeeeeeeeety darn high.

Dean said it in his statement. Getting selected at Pacific Dugoni IS the hardest part of getting into Pacific. I hope those of you have the opportunities of receiving the interviews to Pacific Dugoni will choose to join the Pacific family.

I am so excited for my interview! UoP is my first choice and I moved some of my other interviews to mid-December hoping for a Dec 1st acceptance.

Does anyone know the best way to get around SF? Should I rent a car or just take cabs? I'm am just REALLY bad at public transportation, so that isn't really something I would like to depend on for interview day. 🙂

Also, does anyone know how many people they interview in a day? Mostly I'm just curious.

don't rent a car if you plan to go visit downtown, you won't find any place to park (unless you are willing to pay the outrageous parking lot fees). but driving to UoP should be fine. I am not sure if they let you park in their parking lot though? I think the street parkings are like 2 hour limit around there.

DO NOT drive to UOP. The school parking lot is not open to the public or even to its own students, the public garage next to the school charges u like 8 dollars an hour. The only "reasonable" priced place to park is Japantown, which is about 4 dollars an hour last time I was there. However, you'll have to walk about 20 mins to get to the school. Taking the taxi is probably the best way to get to the school. Either that or pick a hotel that's within walking distance to the school. I remember paying 40+ dollars just for parking when I interviewed here. Almost couldn't leave because I almost didn't have enough cash to pay for parking.

I drove into the City on my interview day. I paid something like $28 to park in the garage next door from 10:15 am to 4:15 pm. Three of the interviewees on my day drove in; one took public transportation; and the othe walked froma nearby hotel.

There were only six of us on my interview day. It was very relaxing. The students and the faculty were all very friendly.

woah, did they lower the prize just recently? You sure paid a lot less than I did.
