UoP question

I got lots of Fs, Ds, and Cs (see my sig) and got in, with a 30k scholarship. Don't sweat a C.
How did you manage to get a scholarship with those kinds of grades?...just curious

because I'm awesome?Your guess is as good as mine.

Your guess is as good as mine.
Gbrando- Yeah I'm curious too. Congratulations on the scholarship and the acceptances, but what was so unique about you? There must be something with those stats...
If you don't feel comfortable answering that's fine. I'm just very curious
GBrando: have you sent in your deposit already? have the people in admissions said anything about your acceptance (i.e. they're reviewing to make sure that your grades were acceptable)?

You must be very awesome indeed. Congrats.
WOW uclaDDS101, your dat scores made my heart skip a beat
Thanks. They're not too shabby.

Honestly, I don't know. My final GPA was a 2.97 and my DAT scores were decent. I've also heard UoP likes high PAT and RC scores, and those are the 2 sections I nailed so that probably helped. I had an average amount of shadowing and extracurrics. At the interview, they mentioned my DAT scores and that they liked my personal statement, so that's all I really know. My PS was just about how I didn't grow up in the best conditions and that I had too much at stake and too many people relying on me (family, wife, baby) to let them down.

I have sent in my deposit... to UNLV. For a Nevada resident with a family, UNLV was just a lot more feasible, despite UoP's awesomeness. I know my grades were fine though, I retook anything below a B- and got As instead. As long as you don't have below a C in a prereq, you'll be fine.
Man, GBrando, you've been taking too much crap for receiving a scholarship for having low GPAs. People just need to back off a little and stop questioning how you managed to get that. Obviously there's something right about you that UOP really likes. UNLV is sick!!!! Except too much of a family environment, which you fit RIGHT IN.
Have any of you current UoP dental students gotten below a B in a course and still got accepted? I'm getting a little worried here
Do you mean after being already accepted?
yes
