Hi I am looking to get a new phone (prefer to say with T mobile). I'm wondering if any of you have had any experience with downloading Up To Date onto your SD card and using it through your smart phone? I would rather not have to get online to access it as most people I know have been doing.

I had UTD on my Treo a couple of years ago. Hardly ever used it, as it took too long to find anything. Epocrates Essentials was much more useful as an on-the-go reference.

do you have epocrates essentials directly on your smart phone now? which phone?

Currently, I have the beta version of Epocrates (not Essentials) on my Palm Pre Plus.

I should add that I have Essentials on my iPad. Also, the Web version of Epocrates (including the disease information, which is basically 5MCC) looks very good and is very useable on my Pre's Web browser.

hi

you know i have the same concern , should i go for iphone 4 or should i wait ofr windows phone 7 or ignore them both and jump to the android world

i have very good experience with up to date on my smartphone - HTC -windows mobile 6.1
and on my previous Atom life device

the advantage of using uptodate on windows mobile is that u do not need to be online
it is an installable version while in iphone or android u have to go online

i used uptodate in the last 3 years and i think i am addicted to it !! if u used to it u can search easily and fast and in our family medicine residency program Up To Date is the bible

in my country - Saudi Arabia - the wi fi and 3g services are really bad do having an offline version is very imprtant to me

the proplem with windows mobile is that it is slow and hangs sometimes

but i reaaaaaaaally cannot live without uotpdate in my pocket !!!

i cantacted the Uptodate team to ask if they have plans for installable version in iphone or android and the answer is NO !!!

here is thier message

Thank you for your email.

UpToDate online can currently be accessed through your Safari browser on the iPhone if you are an individual subscriber with a unique username/password. You can access UpToDate by going to http://uptodate.com, or the login page at http://mobile.uptodate.com.

During the first quarter of 2009 we released enhancements, which included an interface that has been optimized specifically for the look and feel of the iPhone.

While we do not currently have a downloadable version of UpToDate to load directly on your iPhone, we have found that the program performs very well either through Wi-Fi or your 3G network, and you will receive the most updated content by going directly to our website.

Helpful hint: When you go to the UpToDate login page through your browser, click on the + sign at the bottom of your iPhone, then click on “Add to Home Screen”. This will put the UpToDate logo on your home screen so you can get the online application with one touch on future visits.

Similarly you are able to access UpToDate using an Android device either through Wi-Fi or your 3G network. Your device will need to support HTML, cookies, and JavaScript. You can access UpToDate online with a mobile device at http://mobile.uptodate.com. Please note that not all devices or services are validated or supported.

In addition, you will find a complete list of system requirements for all of the devices that UpToDate currently supports at the following link: http://www.uptodate.com/home/help/manual/sysreq/index.html

We currently have no information concerning the release of an installable iPhone or Andriod version.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us.
