Hello, I hope yall doing well. I had a couple of questions. Is an overall GPA of 3.3 and science probably 3.4 or 3.5 okay? or should I do a masters program?
I also didn't do well on DAT first time, however, I am retaking it next month and I am aiming for 26 and I also have a great resume: dental assistant for a year, mission trips, volunteering etc...
Would my GPA get me in a good school or would it be an obstacle?

Depends on your DAT. There’s a lot of people that apply with your GPA and a Masters and good DAT scores.

Thank you, well I am retaking the DAT next month and let's say I do very very well. Do you think that would be good enough to get in Maryland Dental?

Nobody knows. You need the DAT score first. Then you need everything else. Then you need to hope someone who looks at your app likes it.

Everyone wants to think companies hire people or schools accept people. In reality, it’s the people who pick people. And in a subjective process where everyone is almost identical, if you don’t truly stand out, it’s just a crapshoot.

At the very least, with a good DAT score, a solid statement and some EC, you should land some interviews.

Okay great, Thank you very much.

My stats were a bit better than yours and I scored a 21 on the DAT and received several interviews and acceptance. I applied to around 15 schools. Many people who retake their DAT score 1 or 2 points higher so keep that in mind. Unless you change the way you study or something happened to you during the previous DAT many do not score that much higher. 1 point is a big difference but do not let that stop you from that goal of yours 🙂 I retook the DAT and improved by 1 point.

You should be fine. Just do well on the DAt.
