Update programs on post-ERAS resume boosters?

Hi all,

As we come closer to rank time, should we update programs with accomplishments that occurred after our ERAS was submitted? I have a scholarship and a possible publication. I wanted to share this but I didn't know if it would be weird.

A friend of mine also mentioned sharing 4th year clinical evaluations. Is this standard? I have a pretty nice evaluation from a Pediatric Endocrinology rotation, but it was not included in my Dean's Letter because the rotation occurred afterwards.

If the paper has been accepted for publication, then I think it's reasonable to send a follow-up love letter to the program with this additional tidbit. What is the scholarship for? If it's only a submitted manuscript, then I wouldn't send a message to update them of this.

I would update them for substantial things. Like michigangirl said, an accepted manuscript fits that description, a submitted one does not. Basically send a letter saying you are still interested and also that you wanted to update the committee on your application, etc etc.

I would not share clinical evaluations from the 4th year unless it's from a heavy hitter, and even then I'm not sure the best way to weave that into things.

Still waiting to hear the final verdict on the publication - in second round of revisions now, so attending seems to be hopeful. I was only planning on including it if I heard it is going to be published.

As far as the scholarship - it is a Peds memorial scholarship through my school, not a huge deal.
