Update to application

Had a quick Q about updating application.

I am an IMG. I applied in the second week of Oct without step 2ck score and ECFMG certification. I received my score the last week. I immediately transmitted it and sent an email to programs (that I was really interested in) about it. At that time, I mentioned that I would receive my certificate in two weeks. Today I found out that I have been issued the certificate. I updated this info in my profile (the only part of CAF that can be updated). I was wondering if I should email programs again about my ECFMG certificate to get noticed.

From discussion here it appears that these two are very important for IMGs. I want to make sure that my application is reviewed in its entirety and that the updates are noticed in time (aka before its too late).

Indeed. For an IMG, CK scores and ECFMG are extremely important. I would highly recommend contacting the programs in some way, preferably by email to the program coordinator. Yes, they are automatically uploaded to ERAS, but the problem is that there are so many applications with new updates (i.e. CK scores, transcripts, MSPE as of yesterday) that your important updates will get lost in the mix.

Pretty terrible. Have one invite and one may be(program seems interested but no formal invitation as yet. I would like to blame late application to exonerate myself.

Back to original Q, I was a little concerned since I had just updated them about my score a week back and didn't want to be 'one of those annoying guys'.

I agree with the above. You're not being annoying. You have to be your own advocate in this process, so I think it is a great idea telling them about your certificate, which is very important!
