I have a quick question that I can't seem to find an answer to after searching for a bit.
This answers part of my question (found on the PharmCAS website).

Q: Can I add new planned or taken PCAT test dates on my application during the Academic Update?
A: No, you cannot update or edit PCAT information on your application during Academic Update. You may arrange for your new PCAT scores to be sent to PharmCAS as soon as they are available. PharmCAS will add all PCAT scores that are received, even if you have not entered a particular test date in your application.

I understand that they will receive the new scores, but how often do they recheck a student's profile? If you get looked over because of a low score from the first PCAT, at what point will they recheck to see if there is a better score posted?

Forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere. Thank you.

I wish there were a simple answer to your question; however, every school is different in how it processes information updates from PharmCAS within the processes of its admissions decisions.

As with most issues related to admissions, your best bet is always the following:
- persistence and proactivity: stay in touch with the school(s) to which you are applying and know what info they have/have not received
- provide unofficial copies of scores if there's a big improvment and ask that the admissions committee look at them with the understanding that official versions are coming along behind....whenever PharmCAS bundles them and sends.
- be a face, a name, and a voice to the school, not just an application number. That said, however, don't be a pest.

Hope this helps a bit.

We have had a number of applicants contact us after the initial application to inform us that they retook the PCAT in January 2009. If a decision had been by the committee made prior to that time, we might reopen the file if the results were markedly better.

As always, I would contact the institution to let them know of any changes to your application.
