updating schools bcuz of a mistake on aadsas app?

helpp!

I misinterpreted a question (
Has your education ever been interrupted or affected adversely for reasons other than deficiencies in conduct or academic performance? ) on AADSAS application, and didn't get to explain a dip/drop in grade on my application due to a family emergency situation.
(I was maintaining a good gpa until fall 08=2.5 term GPA but picked up the following semester: 3.72) my cumulative/overall gpa is just ok. (3.4/3.4). Fall 08 grade def had an impact, and I wanted to explain it.

I answered “No” while filling out the application. I originally thought that “interrupted” or “affected adversely” was addressing conditions such as a suspension or an expulsion from school. 😕 yea, i'm stooopid.

I found out that I made a mistake when I emailed an AADSAS representative and asked where I could indicate an explanation about grade drop due to external circumstances.

They referred me to the question on biographic info section (
Has your education ever been interrupted or affected adversely for reasons other than deficiencies in conduct or academic performance? ), and it was too late because I had submitted my application already. However, the AADSAS representative told me to directly contact dental schools if I want to update them on any information.

So I wrote a letter to explain my situation and they are sealed, stamped, ready to be sent out. i just feel really dumb.. do you guys think i should wait until the schools send me an email that they received my aadsas application?? It sounds like a lot of schools really don't want applicants to send them anything until aadsas app is received.

Just wait till they email you. Whether or not the mistake has been made, the initial screening process will not have that taken into consideration. Just my opinion.
