Updating schools on your experience

When is a good time to do this? I will have added about 500 hours of working in a veterinary hospital and 15 hours of CE credits by the end of the month. Is anyone else planning on updating schools?

I will have only added about 150 hours of experience, so I'm not sure it's worth it to update them... I think I will just mention it during the interviews that I get called to.

I got a new job and called all of the schools I applied to to see if I could send them an update. Most said go ahead and send up an email and we'll add it to your file. CSU, though, said don't bother. So I'd call your schools and see what they say.

Well, I'd call sooner because I'd want to be sure they have the information before any decisions are made. Plus, you could update them on your revised total number of hours and include the fact that it's a full-time job so you're doing 40hrs per week (or full time through X date, so will have another Y # of hours by that date).

Does anyone know if Davis cares about updates? I actually got a job with the UCD school of vet med that should count towards my hours and if they do care I'd love to let them know. 😛

When I called them, they told me to send them an email update (with the word "Update" in the subject line) and they'd place it in my file. They didn't seem particularly enthusiastic about it making much difference, but oh well. I know I've done all I can by sending them my most recent info.

I'd still call first (or walk over there and ask😛) to be sure that's still how they want it handled, though.

I heard back from Mississippi today and they said certainly send along the update. She seemed very nice and happy to add it to my file! 🙂
