UPenn Admissions

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It varies quite a bit. Kids with perfect GPAs and high DATs dont get in while kids with so-so stats get in (like me). Just be honest on your app and send it in. No one knows what adcoms want but yes, a high GPA and DAT wont hurt your chances. Average for the past 2 years were about a 21 AA and 3.67 GPA.

Aside from the relatively high GPA (3.6 average) and DAT score (21+), they want an indication that you are interested in attending their school. Once your stats get you in the door for an interview, make it clear to your interviewer that you are passionate about the school and would attend if you are accepted.

Penn isn't just into academics and test scores, although those will get your foot into the door. They're looking for people with unique experiences who are ambitious and really value Penn but are also in a way laidback. Not much I can say about research, volunteering, etc. Just as long as you have one or two good ECs, that should be good. Research isn't necessary. I would say shadow a lot of dentists and maybe become more active in a dental office or lab of some sort (but it's not necessary).
