Hey guys!

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about being offered the Dean's scholarship at UPenn only after having not gotten it Dec 1st. I've been accepted without the Dean's. I think I remember Corky saying that those offered the scholarship on the 1st would have to respond within two weeks to reserve their seat/scholarship (as opposed to the traditional 1 month period), and that any that were turned down would be passed on to other accepted applicants/applicants who interview later in the cycle.

So I guess my real question is: if we haven't heard anything on the scholarship front by this point, is it safe to assume that we'll never get it? I'm debating sending in my deposit, kind of on the condition that I may still be considered for the scholarship.

If anyone has any info with regards to this little predicament, I'd really appreciate any input!

Hi there. I contacted Corky last monday about the same thing you were wondering about. She said they would meet on wednesday (the 21st) to select the second batch of dean's scholarships to be sent out and she was going to call those students by the next day.. I received an email from her late thursday saying I didn't receive the dean's but would be considered should further scholarships become available. Hope this helps even tho it may be dissapointing

Ahh alright, thanks for the info baseballplayer. Do you think Corky emailed you because you had contacted her about it earlier? And did she tell you whether or not you'd have to put down the deposit for future consideration? I assume we do have to, but just looking for some confirmation.

ya no problem! i think the email was because i contacted her about it.. she didn't talk about putting down the deposit so i would call her about it and im sure she will help with whatever you want to know
